Tribal tattoos here, Tribal tattoos there; everywhere I look I see them aplenty! Over here, there is a snake on someone’s forearm; over there, I see the moon rising on another’s neck; oh and once I saw a heart traced along a girl’s – well, let’s just say it was somewhere on her body. The thing that fascinates me to no end is that no two tattoos are ever the same! Well, maybe they are; but the probability is quite less. There are as many designs as there are people on this planet, and that is saying something.
Two hurdles must be crossed if you wish to get a tattoo done: you need to make the decision first, and then decide on the design. After all, you will, more likely than not, be spending your entire lifetime with it slapped over your skin. There are ways of getting a tattoo removed, but they don’t always guarantee success. However, if you choose your tattoo carefully, you will never have to think about getting it removed. Plan now for a successful future! Did that sound a little like a bank commercial? Forget I said anything and let’s move on.
So, let’s get started! It would help to know what you think about your own personality. What do you want to show people about you? Are you a rebel or a conformist? Are you a sweet natured person or do you like to dominate your fellow man? Ah, I have a feeling you have a tribal air about you. You like the smell of the jungle, the thrill of the hunt. I look into the crystal ball and I see you dancing around the bonfire, lusting for blood, famished for fresh meat.
I think that is enough of my romanticism for a day. We were talking about tribal designs (or were going to, anyway). If you have a tribal, yet feminine, nature, you could look into getting yourself a tribal butterfly tattoo. These are a great mixture of the wild and the fairer sex. They look great nearly anywhere on the body, and can add a lot to your sex appeal. Popular places to get these done are just below your lower hip, on the back of your shoulders and just behind your neck. Varying in size from tiny to medium-sized, tribal butterfly tattoos can be filled with either a dab of many colors, or kept within the realm of a few shades, depending on your personality.
If you are a male with a tribal nature, or if you are a female with a flair for adventures, you could go for tribal dragon tattoos. These can be very big, depending on where you get them. People have been known to have tribal dragon tattoos made all the way across the front of their chest and back. Generally devoid of color, these tattoos are more for the rough-by-nature patrons than the docile ones.
Tattoos are fast becoming popular, especially in the west. If you think you are ready to delve into the wonderful world of flowing lines and weaving curves, you need to start looking at the various designs on offer. Of course, you can always get your own customized one made, but it doesn’t hurt to know which ones already exist.

So, you wish to get a tattoo done, eh? Well, well, you wouldn’t be the first one, nor are you going to have the distinction of being the last. No, there have been many before you and I know, I just know, that I will keep seeing your kind come up to me for as long as I live. Oh, how I enjoy squeezing little tattoo hopefuls in my hands until they scream for their mommies! Oh, how I enjoy roasting them at the bonfire until they are ready to be devoured! Ah, don’t worry, I was just kidding. No, what I really wish to do is congratulate you on an excellent decision! Only those who have tattoos can tell you how great they really are!
So many designs exist to tempt your palette; see the curves snaking about, watch the starts cut up the rows, check out the hearts weaving through the lines. There are so many to pick from that you are truly going to be spoiled for choice. Pretty soon, you will want them all! That may be possible, but it might be better if you took your foot off the pedal for a little while and let me guide you properly. Allow me to steer your interest towards a rather interesting class of tattoos; the tribal design tattoos.
Now, chances are, you are already familiar with both tribal butterfly tattoos and tribal dragon tattoos. They are, for those of you who don’t know, interesting designs for those with an appetite for all things, well, tribal. The designs themselves consist of lines meant to imitate fire and other elements of nature. These lines often flow outwards, like flames or trees. They are quite popular amongst tattoo bearers. Another interesting class of tattoos is the cross design tattoos. These, as you may have guessed, are basically variations of the Christian cross for those with a love for religious imagery.
However, an interesting breed exists that combines the tribal with the religious. The design itself is referred to as the tribal cross tattoo design. So, if you are someone who likes to fuse designs together, this could be the ideal choice for you. Of course, you would need to have an affinity towards religious imagery to qualify, but that is really a personal decision more than anything else. You can get the best of both worlds if you are unable to decide which part of your personality to appease.
What a lot of people forget is that tattoos are really works of art; and art has no boundaries. The only limitation is your imagination and that too can be conquered. If you can’t quite decide which way to go, simply ask your tattoo artist to combine the designs for you; trust me, being an artist, he will oblige. The tattoo must be a representative of you; and to get it to that stage, you are welcome to mix and match designs in any way you want. So, if it is to be a tribal cross tattoo, then so be it!
